At Identity+ Aesthetics, we utilise the Sterex SX-B Blend Epilator an FDA approved, Class-2 Medical device, validating its safety and efficacy.
The Process of Electrolysis:
Electrolysis, for hair removal, works by weakening hair at the follicle and eventually destroying its ability to reform a follicle and produce hair.
A fine sterile needle delivers Thermolysis and/or Galvanic current into the root of the hair causing a caustic reaction with the saline within the skin resulting in the hair becoming unable to reform. After sufficient heat and chemical energy has been delivered, the hair is removed with tweezers.
The number of treatments required for hair removal can vary depending on several influencing factors. Depending on the hair’s density, we will recommend at minimum 8 to 12 treatment sessions.
For skin lesions, the electrolysis process is the same however only requiring 1 to 3 treatment sessions.
Electrolysis for Lesions
Skin tags, moles, spider veins, milia/milium, and many more lesion types, can make people feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. They can arise due to a myriad of reasons, including environmental factors, genetics, or underlying health conditions. While some are benign and purely cosmetic concerns, others might indicate more serious skin conditions.
Electrolysis rooted in science and technology. By applying a controlled Thermolysis and/or Galvanic current to the lesion area, electrolysis works to break down the unwanted tissue, promoting the skin's natural healing process.
The result? A significant reduction, and often, complete elimination of the lesion.
Skin Tags
Skin tags are harmless growths that can appear anywhere on the body as lesions on the skin. While they are harmless, their presence can be a cosmetic concern for many, especially when they appear on visible areas like the face, neck, or eyelids. Factors such as genetics, friction, and hormonal changes can contribute to the development of skin tags.
Electrolysis stands out as an efficient and trusted solution for skin tag removal. The procedure involves cauterising the skin tag by using Thermolysis and/or Galvanic current at the base of the skin tag. This targeted approach ensures that the surrounding skin remains untouched and undamaged. When the current is used, it stops the blood supply to the skin tag, making it naturally fall off on its own.
The benefits of opting for electrolysis offers a quick and safe method that minimises the possibility of scaring.
Moles
Moles are naturally occurring skin growths and are a common feature on many individuals. They come in different sizes, shapes, and colours. They are usually harmless, but can sometimes make people feel self-conscious, especially if they are noticeable. Over time, some moles may even sprout hairs, making them more noticeable.
Electrolysis offers a specialised solution for such cases. By targeting and eliminating both the mole itself and its hairs, electrolysis can significantly reduce their visibility, giving the skin a more uniform appearance by cauterising the mole by using Thermolysis and/or Galvanic current.
It is required to consult with your GP before undergoing any mole-related treatments.
Spider Veins
Spider veins, also known as Telangiectasia, are delicate web-like networks of tiny blood vessels that surface on the skin. They can appear red, blue, or purple and can be a problem if they appear on the face or legs. Factors such as genetics, age, hormonal changes, and sun exposure can contribute to their development.
Electrolysis offers a targeted approach to treat these veins. Electrolysis can reduce spider veins and make the skin look more even and youthful by using Thermolysis and/or Galvanic current.
Milia/Milium
Milia, often referred to as 'milk spots', are tiny cysts filled with a protein called keratin. They can appear anywhere on the body but are commonly found on the face, especially around the eyes and cheeks. While they pose no medical threat, many individuals opt for removal due to cosmetic preferences.
Electrolysis provides a minimally invasive technique to treat milia through Thermolysis and/or Galvanic current that ensures the precise elimination of these cysts.
